PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
This Refund Policy documents the circumstances under which an individual may seek a refund from Marie Vakakis Consulting (MVC) for its events.
If COVID-19 restrictions prevent a training workshop from proceeding in-person as scheduled, Marie Vakakis reserves the right to move the workshop to an online format. No refunds will be permitted in these circumstances. However, existing registrants will be offered the choice to transfer their registration to a future training workshop that is scheduled to take place in person. If that subsequent workshop is also moved online due to COVID-19 restrictions, registrants will have the choice of either attending the online training or forfeiting the training fee.
Marie Vakakis reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any training workshop for which sufficient registrations are not received up to 14 days prior to the workshop starting date.
If a workshop is cancelled by Marie Vakakis, existing registrants will be sent a full refund and may keep any pre-workshop materials sent. Registrations may be transferred to a future workshop if preferred. Marie Vakakis cannot reimburse any travel or accommodation expenses incurred (including in the event of COVID-19 restrictions) and recommends that all registrants purchase travel insurance.
The following section provides details of the various scenarios that may support a request for a refund:
In the event of a technical error with Marie Vakakis Consulting (MVC), MVC will refund the transaction either in full or the relevant part thereof. In some cases, evidence of the error may be required if the payment is disputed by MVC. For example, evidence of an item being debited to a bank account more than once may be required to be provided to request a refund if there is no corresponding record on Stripe. Evidence may be in the form of a copy of a credit card statement or bank statement that demonstrates the error. To ensure the privacy of the card/account holder, any personal information or transactions not relevant to the error should be hidden or removed.
A refund will be approved when an Event has been cancelled by the Event Organiser. The refund will be made by the Event Organiser directly.
Other Reason (not covered above)
Refunds for reasons other than those covered in the above scenarios will be considered on a case by case basis by MVC.
Unavailability/ Change of circumstances
If you are unable to attend an event and give less than 14 days’ notice, no refund or exchange of ticket will be available. In some cases substitutions may be welcomed; please contact MVC as soon as possible firstname.lastname@example.org, the full details of the substituted person must be provided to MVC at time of transfer. For hybrid sessions, online modules cannot be transferred to another person once the online modules have been started.
If you are unable to attend an event and give between 14-20 days’ notice, a 50% refund will be available or a transfer to the next course. If 21 days’ notice or more is given a refund may be made minus the booking fee or you will be eligible to exchange your ticket for an event running on a different date.
REQUESTING A REFUND
Refund requests for the events are to be made by contacting the MVC and providing details to support the refund request. The customer will be notified once all relevant approvals have been considered and a decision on the refund request has been made (this may take up to 2 weeks).
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Places at this event cannot be held or reserved until payment has been received. Any and all cancellations must be notified in writing to email@example.com.
A substitute attendee may be nominated to attend the training event, with prior approval. All such requests should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Refunds approved for Event Tickets will be processed within 2 weeks of being approved. These refunds may be performed online or via credit card and may require credit card details. Please note timeframes are subject to receiving approval by all responsible parties and the processing times for the respective financial institutions.
