Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision for Mental Health Professionals

Professional clinical supervision is offered for both individuals and for small groups or teams.

Professional supervision provides an opportunity for workers to reflect on their practice. In order to gain and maintain accreditation, most mental health professionals require on-going clinical supervision. However it’s so much more than just a way to build up Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

Marie Vakakis

I’m Marie Vakakis, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW), couples and family therapist and clinical supervisor. I’ve worked extensively with social worker, counsellors, and psychologists and I understand how important quality supervision is for confidence, professional growth and development.

My approach to supervision provides a safe, supportive space where you can reflect on your practice, enhance your skills and navigate the complexities of client work while also keeping an eye on things like burn-out, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.

With experience in working with trauma, relationships, teens, and families, I draw on my training in EMDR, Gottman Level 3 couples therapy and mental health to offer practical and supportive supervision. Whether you’re looking for help with case conceptualisation, professional development, or balancing self-care, I’ll work with you to ensure you can provide the best service to your clients while taking care of your well-being.

I also work in private practice and have experience in schools and community mental health. I understand the challenges of navigating large systems and can offer support in managing the complexities that come with these environments.

I offer individual and small group supervision, creating an environment where you’ll feel supported, challenged, and ready to grow both personally and professionally.
